Beta expectations & privacy

A straightforward account of what the current beta offers, what may change, and how player information supports the experience.

The beta agreement in plain language

Explore freely, with room for the engine to change.

DragonsTales is approaching invite-only beta so extended real play can reveal what short demonstrations cannot. The experience is free during this limited testing period, but it remains experimental and may be changed or withdrawn.

Limited-time access

Beta access is free, invitation-only, and may end at any time. Features, limits, models, and availability may change as the engine is evaluated.

An evolving world engine

This is an active beta rather than a finished quest catalogue. Bugs, interruptions, migrations, behavioral changes, and campaign resets remain possible.

Early news, not a permanent entitlement

Beta players will be among the first people notified and invited when later rounds or the production release become available. Participation does not guarantee access to every round or free use of the production service.

Feedback is welcome

Observations about continuity, pacing, relationships, usability, and surprising moments are especially valuable, but regular feedback is not a condition of access.

Campaign continuity

We will make a reasonable effort to carry stories forward.

We intend to preserve beta campaigns through later testing rounds and the production launch where reasonably possible. Engine and data-model changes may nevertheless make some campaigns incompatible, require migration, or require a reset. We cannot guarantee that every beta campaign will remain playable.

Long-term direction, not a current feature: we intend to let players download the stories they created, including campaigns that can no longer continue. Story export is still in development and is not currently guaranteed.

Privacy during beta

The world remembers because information is stored and processed.

Persistent play requires more information than a disposable chat. These are the practical boundaries that apply during the beta.

What is handled
Account and profile information, campaign worlds, player turns, generated responses, feedback, and the diagnostics needed to operate and evaluate the beta.
Why it is handled
To authenticate players, preserve campaigns, generate and continue play, investigate failures, improve the beta, and communicate about access or support.
AI processing
Player input and relevant campaign context may be sent to selected third-party AI providers to generate and interpret story turns.
Developer access
During beta, authorized DragonsTales developers may inspect campaign content, account information, feedback, and diagnostics when troubleshooting or evaluating system behavior.
Your material
Your original characters and writing remain yours. You permit DragonsTales to store and process that material as needed to provide and evaluate the beta.
Publication
Campaign excerpts, player feedback, or identifying information will not be published as playtest material without the player’s explicit permission.
Deletion requests
Account and campaign deletion can be requested manually by emailing [email protected]. We will confirm the scope and timing of the request, including any operational limits that apply.
Sensitive information
Do not enter confidential information, real-world secrets, or sensitive personal information into a campaign. The first beta is intended for adults only.
